We have completed the preseason and the 25 play call minimum rule has been going great!
☆25 teams averaged at least 25 plays over the 3 preseason games and should be set for the regular season.
☆3 teams averaged between 23-24 plays over the 3 preseason games and should consider adding a play to their gameplan
☆4 teams (BOLD) averaged under 25 plays called or had plays called per snap averages over 3 per play. These teams need to make whatever adjustments needed to get in line with the other teams.
This rule was put into place to increase the competitive balance in the league and force teams to used balanced offensive attacks to win. It increasing the importance of roster strength and limits the overuse of the "big plays" since the sim won't do that.
Please, make sure your team is compliant as we enter the season. I used preseason to help show which teams need to make adjustments.
I had a low overall play count. I have 37 plays selected. I don't know why it is so low.
I don't know...some teams are averaging less than 60 snaps per game and still hitting the count.
Make sure you have the play matrix set up for every down and distance to use multiple plays....for instance, having 10 long passes selected by only calling long passes 5% of the time will mean most will never be used.
Also make sure you don't have rules limiting what plays you use out of certain formations on type of plays.
There will be games with low play counts when you have 45 offensive snaps but if you have 32 plays selected in a fairly balanced play matrix.....on average through 4 games you should be fine!
Figure out what plays aren't being called that you select and you should be able to figure out why

That happens to me sometimes when I select too many of a certain type of play in one formation. For example, sometimes I'll have 4 inside run plays selected for 1RB/1TE/3WR formations and the sim will only run 1-2 in a game.

XFL PLAY COUNT
WEEK 1
And we are Off!
☆ 22 teams at 25 ☆ 3 teams at 24 ☆ 2 teams at 23 ☆ 4 teams at 22 ☆ 1 team at 21
I'm fine with just about everyone here based on plays called per offensive snap. 3.00 should be the max number based off 25 plays on 75 offensive snaps. So someone with an average over 3.00 isn't using enough plays
☆20 teams at 25+ plays ☆5 teams at 24 plays ☆3 teams at 23 plays ☆1 team at 22 plays ☆2 teams at 21 plays ☆1 team at 18 plays
6 teams are concerning to me as they have 2 weeks under 25 plays called. I've highlighted those teams and they need to do what's necessary to call more plays.
I'm at a loss as to why I'm not hitting that 25 play threshold. I have 32 plays selected over six formations. I plan everything out so that all of those plays are balanced throughout the entire game. Yet, I look through every game log and the sim just refuses to call certain plays I've selected. As I've said in other forums, if I have three inside runs selected for one formation, the sim just refuses to call one of those runs and will go 50/50 between the other two for the entire game. There are some plays I've had selected since preseason game 1 that have still not been called.
Any advice from those of you running 28+ plays?

I don't know, call more plays and double check rules aren't forcing you into certain plays more than others.
I'm selecting 28 plays and averaging over 25 per game. I have a run/pass ratio of 60/40 on 1st downs and it changes on down and distance and my only rule for offense is to run heavy when leading in the 4th quarter.
I have some free time tonight after work, I might just sit down and go over each game log in detail and rethink the down and distance and situational play calling.
