Very true, and I hope you know this isn't personal, but I hope it's me he stops mocking. Good luck!

2052 POSTSEASON

DIVISION ROUND

AXC

■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
Daytona Beach Bull Sharks 21
@
Dakota Blizzard 33
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

These division rivals have been evenly matched the last 5 seasons but Daytona held the slight edge by winning the only playoff game between these francises in 2050. Dakota would even the score by winning the second playoff game they have played in XFL history. Dakota started strong and took a 25-7 by the 10:00 mark of the 2nd quarter before Daytona scored a TD at the end of the 1st half to go into halftime with Dakota up 25-14. The 2nd half saw both defenses tighten up and neither team would score until there was under 5 minutes left in the game. Dakota would score a TD with 4:29 left on the clock and Daytona would answer with a late TD but it was too little, too late.

Daytona QB Joseph Eady was injured at the start of the 4th quarter on a pass attempt where he was hit as he threw with the score 25-14. He would keep trying to re-enter the game so essentially QB Terry Meyer and Eady kept rotating the rest of the 4th quarter.

Dakota won its 51 postseason game which is the most in XFL history and have advanced to their 19th AXC Conference Championship Gane which is the 2nd most behind only Buffalo who has been to 20 in the XFL's 35 year history.

WR Jose Hernandez (DAK) became just the 3rd player in XFL history to rush for over 200 yards in a postseason game where his 209 yards rushing ranks 3rd most in a postseason game Alltime. He had a 91 yard run in the game which ties him for the 2nd longest run in postseason history with WR Clifford Mays (VBA) which happened in 2038 versus Philadelphia. The longest run was 97 yards which happened way back in 2022 by RB Ricky Daniel (SEA).

Cincinnati lost their first 4 postseason games versus Buffalo between 2025-2041 but they have now won 3 straight versus Buffalo in the postseason since 2045. A matchup of teams led by 3× MVP QB Gary Fielding and 4× MVP QB Matthew Whitney is a much watch for all XFL fans and this game didn't disappoint. Cincinnati started with a 70 yard TD pass from Fielding to WR Craig May on their 1st possession and 2nd possession of the game. Buffalo would answer with 2 fieldgoals before Cincinnati added a fieldgoal as the game went into halftime with Cincinnati up 11-8. Cincinnati would start the 2nd half with back to back TDs sandwiched around a Buffalo punt to take a 25-6 lead into the 4th quarter. Buffalo would answer led by back to back TD passes from Matthew Whitney to shrink the lead to 25-20 with 5:08 left in the game. Buffalo would attempt an onside kick which was recovered by Cincinnati at the Buffalo 45 yard line and on the first play from scrimmage, Fielding connected for a 45 yard TD pass to make the score 31-20 with 5:03 left on the clock. Buffalo would get two more possessions and they failed to convert on 4th down during both as Cincinnati held on to win the game.

Cincinnati won their 16th postseason game and 10th at home as they advance to their 5th AXC Conference Championship game.

WR Julio Hamilton (CIN) rushed for 113 yards in the win which places him 5th Alltime in career postseason rushing yards with 1,174 yards.

QB Gary Fielding (CIN) threw for 303 yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT in the win which places him 3rd Alltime in career postseason passing yards (5,941), 2nd Alltime in career postseason passing TDs (47) and 3rd Alltime in career postseason interceptions (34).

QB Matthew Whitney (BUF) threw for 372 yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT in the lose which places him 9th Alltime in career postseason passing yards and 8th Alltime in career postseason passing TDs (32).

Montana Grizzlies 10
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

Providence got some level of revenge from losing last year's NXC Conference Championship to Montana by beating the Grizzlies by 24 points on the road. The Gane went into halftime with Providence only up 10-3 due to a pair of interceptions (1 per team) and a Providence missed fieldgoal. Providence took over in the 3rd quarter with 3 straight TDs before Montana finally scored a TD to end the 3rd quarter making the score 31-10 entering the 4th quarter. Providence would tack on a fieldgoal in the 4th quarter while Montana was forced to punt 4 times and lost by 24 points.

Providence won their 15th postseason game and 6th road postseason game while they are advancing to their 5th NXC Conference Championship all within the last 8 years.

QB Gary Villicana (PRI) threw for 344 yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT in the win and he improves to 4-1 in the postseason Alltime.

K Cory Pate (PRI) went 2/3 on fieldgoals in the win and he places 2nd Alltime in career postseason FGs with 54/61, 1st Alltime in career postseason 50+ FGs with 15/20 and 6th Alltime in career postseason XPs with 42/43.

Phoenix Predators 48
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

Phoenix won their 18th postseason game including 15 home wins in the postseason and have advanced to their 7th NXC Conference Championship game. The game was dominated by Phoenix as they scored early and often and took a 24-0 lead into halftime. Phoenix scored 10 more points to extend their lead to 34-0 before Memphis finally kicked a fieldgoal to avoid the shutout.

Rookie WR Daniel Marsden (PNX) rushed for 127 yards in the win.

QB Brandon Rodriquez (PNX) threw for 375 yards, 4 TDs and 0 INTs in the win. He finally gets his first win in the postseason after losing his first 2 games.

WR Kenneth Ong (PNX) had 100 yards rushing and 170 yards receiving in the win.

2052 POSTSEASON

CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS

If we take a look at some common denominators among the 4 teams playing in the Conference Championships, we find that all 4 teams were in the top 12 in rush offense (1st/2nd/10th/12th) and top 11 in rush defense (1st/2nd/4th/11th).

We also find that 3 of the 4 teams have Total offense & Total defense in the Top 10. Cincinnati (8th/1st), Providence (4th/2nd) & Phoenix (6th/4th) are the 3 teams with Top 10 offenses & defenses while Dakota (2nd/12th) just missed.

Surprisingly, 3 of the 4 teams have a negative Turnover margin with only Dakota at +/- 0.

The bottom line is all 4 teams can run the ball and stop the run which seems to be a key to success in the postseason.

ANALYSIS

History favors Dakota in this matchup as they hold a 15-6 Alltime record versus Cincinnati in the regular season & postseason combined but the last time these teams met in the AXC Conference Championship, Cincinnati blew out Dakota on route to their 1st XFL Title.

This game could be won in the trenches as the top two rushing attacks square off while Cincinnati has the top rush defense in the league. With that said, it may come down to the passing attack and which defense gets the most pressure on the opposing QB.

Cincinnati has been to 2 Title games the last 5 years while Dakota hasn't been to a Title game since 2039 when they failed to win their 3rd straight XFL Title.

ANALYSIS

These two teams have been dominate in the regular season for the last decade but both teams have failed to find success in the postseason. The beauty of this matchup is that one of them will finally win some postseason hardware and get to the Title game.

Providence holds the slightest of edges over Phoenix with a 13-10-1 record Alltime in regular season & postseason combined. Phoenix is home which bodes well for the Predators who are 15-7 at home in the postseason while Providence is 6-11 on the road.

Recent history saw Providence beat Phoenix last postseason in the Division Round by 9 points at Phoenix.

Cincinnati scored a TD on their 1st possession and added a 2 pound conversion to take an 8-0 lead early!

Dakota would answer with a TD of their own but failed on the 2 point conversion making the score 8-6.

Cincinnati would immediately answer with an 11 play 49 yard drive but they missed a 43 fieldgoal.

After both teams exchanged punts, Dakota had a 10 play 72 yard drive which ended with a 29 yard fieldgoal which gave Dakota a 9-8 lead as they entered halftime.

Cincinnati got the ball to begin the 2nd half and had an 8 play 43 yard drive but for the second time the K Hal Rogers missed a 49 yard fieldgoal which would really come back to haunt the Defenders.

Dakota would respond with 17 unanswered points on their next 3 possessions while Cincinnati punted twice which gave Dakota a 28-8 lead with 10:49 left in the 4th quarter.

Cincinnati was down 20 points but they showed their Championship pedigree with 14 unanswered points of their own to make the score 28-22 with 2:00 left on the clock.

Dakota was held to a 3 & out and used only 54 seconds off the clock which gave the ball back to Cincinnati on their own 5 with 1:06 left in the game. They needed to go 95 yards in a minute and they managed to get to the Dakota 34 yard line but WR Frank Dardar fumbled and Dakota recovered which ended their bid for a comeback. That was the only Turnover in the game and the two missed fieldgoals cost Cincinnati since they lost by 6 points.

Two of the best teams the last decade met for the chance to win their first NXC Conference Championship in that time period. Phoenix has gone 140-20 while Providence has gone 129-31 the last decade and the two teams have won 16 of the 20 possible division Titles.

Phoenix started fast scoring 17 points while forcing 3 interceptions and holding Providence to just 3 points as the game entered halftime with Phoenix up 17-3.

Providence got the ball to start the 2nd half but went 3 & out and were forced to punt. Their defense quickly forced the first turnover from Phoenix via an interception which they capitalized on with a TD to make the score 17-10 with 12:27 left in the 3rd quarter.

Phoenix would answer with a 13 play/75 yard drive to score a TD to make the score 24-10 with 6:14 left in the 3rd quarter.

The 4th quarter featured a combined 3 punts, 3 turnover on downs, 2 turnovers (1 fumble/1 interception) and 1 Phoenix fieldgoal.

Phoenix finally won the NXC Conference Championship while Providence must wait at least another season for their chance to break through.
