With week 1 in the books, we find that 6 games were decided by less then 7 points including one overtime game.

Defense ruled the week as 23 teams scored under 20 points, 15 teams scored under 10 points and we had 2 shutouts.

On offense, only 2 teams broke the 400 yard plateau for total offense while on defense, 6 teams gave up less then 200 yards of total offense.

Only 3 teams had both offense and defense ranked in the top ten, Montana (2nd, 4th), Chicago (8th, 7th) and Birmingham (9th, 6th)

Week 3

After 3 weeks, there are only 3 undefeated remaining along with 4 winless teams.

Defense ruled the week with 10 teams scoring 10 points or less while only 5 teams managed to score 30 or more points.

Only Montana and Milwaukee have top ten offenses and defenses after 3 weeks which shows that the league is showing a great deal of parity.

New England leads the league with a +7 turnover margin while Philly and TAmpa Bay lead the league in sacks per game at 2.3. Brooklyn paces the league with 2.7 interceptions per game.

Week 8

We are at the midpoint of the season so let's take a look at each divisional race and reflect on each teams owner and his accomplishments.

AXC

WEST

OAKLAND OUTLAWS (8-0)

This is Crazyrazors 1st season as owner taking over for the very successful Privatesnowflake. The francise has gone to 5 straight playoffs including 2 XFL titles. Crazyrazor has continued the dominance in this division and will look to add a 3rd title, his first to the francise.

DENVER EXTREME (3-5)

This is Plasteredpkl2's 3rd season as owner. He has never made the playoffs and finished last season 7-8-1.

KC CHAOS (3-5)

Blaster2 took over the francise from Arjona16 and will look to make the playoffs for the 1st time in francise history. The team posted a winning record last season at 8-7-1 and Blaster2 will need a strong 2nd half to match that feat.

VANCOUVER VANDALS (3-5)

Bhass has owned this francise for 4 years and has never made the playoffs despite finishing last season 9-7. The francise does have 1 division title in its history and Bhass will look to get them into the playoffs for the first time under his watch.

EAST

BUFFALO SKULL CRUSHERS (6-2)

Smirt211 is one of the original owners entering his 7th season. The defending Division champ has 3 division titles and 4 playoff appearances on his resume. He has come close several times and will look to win his first XFL title.

NEW ENGLAND CRUSADERS (4-4)

This is John97334's 1st year as owner and at 4-4 has already surpassed the win total of 3 from last season. The team has made just 1 playoff appearance in its history as a Wildcard.

MIAMI NEMESIS (3-5)

This is Grindironfans 4th season as owner and is coming off back to back playoff appearances including a Wildcard last season at 10-6. Miami will need a dominate 2nd half to match that record and make a 3rd straight playoff appearance.

NEW YORK EMPIRE (2-6)

Brohl has owned the francise for 4 seasons and has never made the playoffs. The francise has 2 division titles years ago and Brohl will look to keep rebuilding this team and get them back to relevance.

NORTH

PITTSBURGH BLITZKRIEG (6-2)

This is ArmchairQB's 4th season as owner of the francise. He won the division last season at 9-7 and will look to make it 2 in a row with a side 2nd half.

BIRMINGHAM THUNDERBOLTS (4-4)

Gleg took over the francise this season from Frosty96 who left the team after an 0-16 season. Gleg has helped the team to be competitive this season at 4-4 and can make a playoff push with a strong 2nd half.

CLEVELAND OUTSIDERS (3-5)

This is Tman0115s 4th season as owner of the Cleveland francise. He has never made the playoffs, in fact the francise has never made the playoffs. After going 4-12 last season, they are off to a much better start this season at 3-5.

CINCINNATI DEFENDERS (3-5)

Fhunt3 is the 2nd of the original owners in his 7th season. He has 4 playoff appearances under his belt along with 2 division titles. He competed last season at 8-8 and needs a strong 2nd half to climb into a playoff spot.

SOUTH

DAKOTA BLIZZARD (7-1)

Cjfred68 is the 3rd of the original owners remaining in his 7th season. 6 straight playoff appearances, 5 straight division titles, 3 Conference Championship and 1 XFL Title make up his resume and after back to back loses in the XFL Title game is looking to make a 3rd straight capped off with his 2nd Title.

MILWAUKEE BUZZSAWS (6-2)

This is Mardn72s 3rd season as owner and he is looking to make his 1st playoff appearance and the francises 2nd in team history. At 6-2, he has a legitimate shot at the division title and barring that should lock up a Wildcard spot.

TEXAS HOLD'EM (1-7)

Dyluckyguess is the 4th of the original owners remaining in his 7th season. He has 3 Wildcard appearances on his resume including last season where he finished 11-5. Years of frustration has led Dyluckyguess to tear his roster down to amass draft picks in an attempt to build a team that can compete with Dakota in a few years.

DAYTONA BEACH BULL SHARKS (0-8)

This is Fitpta12s 3rd season as owner of the francise. Coming off an 0-16 season, he is winless so far this season. In fact, Daytona has lost 28 games in a row and Fitpta12 has a career record of 2-38. All this losing has meant some high draft picks and they like Texas is attempting to rebuild the francise with an eye on overtaking Dakota in a few seasons.

NXC

EAST

PROVIDENCE ISLANDERS (4-4)

This is Rednu's 3rd season as owner of the francise. The francise has 1 division title under its belt and at 4-4 currently leads the division as both Philadelphia and Brooklyn are having down years. All 4 teams are separated by just 2 games so this division is still up for grabs.

PHILADELPHIA SLAYERS (3-5)

Dave1233456 took over the francise from Wayne110 who went 13-3 last season and made the playoffs as a Wildcard. At 3-5, they have already lost 2 more games then they did all of last season but a strong 2nd half could still land them a playoff spot via a division crown.

WASHINGTON WARRIORS (3-5)

The 5th of the original owners is Crm63 who is in his 7th season and has 4 division titles on his resume. After a disappointing 5-11 record last season, he will look to turn it around in the 2nd half and make a run at his 5th division title.

BROOKLYN HITMEN (2-6)

This is 4343's 2nd season as owner of the Hitmen. After winning the division last season with a 13-2-1 record, the team has stumbled out of the gates in the 1st half at 2-6. Fortunately for them, nobody in the division has run away with the division so a dominant 2nd half could find them with back to back division titles.

WEST

SEATTLE BARBARIANS (6-2)

Timreesejr is the 6th original owner in his 7th season. Despite a 10-6 record last season, Seattle missed the playoffs after 3 straight appearances including a Conference Championship. In a highly competitive division, Seattle leads the division by just 1 game over 2 teams so this division should come down to week 16.

ARIZONA WRANGLERS (5-3)

This is Wieczoreks 5th season as owner of the francise. He is coming off a season where he went 12-4 and won the division plus has made the playoffs in back to back seasons.

VEGAS BLACK ACES (5-3)

This is Claymore's 3rd season as owner and is looking to make the playoffs for the first time. After a 7-9 season last year, at 5-3, he is looking to take that next step and either win the division or secure a Wildcard spot.

LOS ANGELES CHALLENGERS (3-5)

This is Bgedgerly's 2nd season as owner and is attempting to turn around a francise that hasnt made the playoffs going on 5 straight seasons. After finishing 2-14 last season, Bgedgerly has already improved on the win total at 3-5. He will look to finish strong and take the next step in getting LA back into the playoff picture.

NORTH

GREEN BAY ENFORCERS (7-1)

This is Wolveraider's 2nd season as owner of the francise and after a disappointing 6-10 record where the francise missed the playoffs for the 1st time, he has the team leading the division at 7-1.

GEM CITY GANSTERS (6-2)

Raidergreg69 is in his 4th season as owner of the francise. He took over a floundering francise and has won back to back division titles and a XFL Title. Currently in 2nd place, a game behind Green Bay, it looks like a 2 team race to week 16 to decide the winner.

MONTANA GRIZZLIES (2-6)

This is Trslicks 5th season as owner of this francise and despite relocating them from Detroit to beautiful Montana, the francise still has had no success making the playoffs. The francise has never had a winning record and will look to avoid a 4th straight season of double digit loses. The hope is that Slick will turn this francise around in time and bring playoff football to the people of Montana.

CHICAGO AVENGERS (1-7)

James32 is in his 5th season as owner and like Trslick has never made the playoffs as first Green Bay and more recently Gem City has controlled the division. After a 0-16 season last year, Chicago at least has won a game this season and the rebuild will continue into next season.

SOUTH

MEMPHIS MANIACS (6-2)

This is Greyghost1225's 5th season as owner of the francise. He has 2 playoff appearances under his belt with both being a Wildcard. In a tight divisional race, he will look for the 1st division title in francise history.

CAROLINA COBRAS (6-2)

Jon75 is the 7th and final of the original owners in his 7th season. Despite missing the playoffs for 3 straight seasons, he has 2 playoff appearances including a Conference Championship on his resume.

ATLANTA DOMINATORS (5-3)

Chrisbronext is in his 6th season as owner of the francise. His resume includes 5 straight playoff appearances and 2 XFL Titles. At 5-3, Chris finds himself in a tight 3 team race for the division crown and a potential Wildcard spot.

TAMPA BAY CORSAIRS (2-6)

This is CasualCnote's 4th season as owner and has missed the playoffs every season as his team is trying to find its place in a very deep and competitve division

Week 10

This is turning out to be the greatest season for competitive balance in the history of the XFL. After 10 weeks, 12 teams in the AXC and 13 teams in the NXC still have a legitimate shot at a playoff spot.

While the AXC divisional races seem decided and 1 of the Wildcard seems secure, we have 7 teams battling for 1 spot. Those 7 teams are all within 1 game of each other.

The NXC is where the real competition is as all 4 divisions are up for grabs with the East having 4 teams separated by 1 game, the South has 3 teams separated by 1 game and the West with 3 teams separated by just 2 games. Only the North is down to just 2 teams seperated by a game. When it comes to the Wildcard 5 teams are battling for 2 spots.

Good luck to everyone still alive for a playoff spot, the next 2 weeks will either seperate the teams or make things even tighter.

Week 12

We are 3 quarters of the way through season 7 of the NFL and the playoff picture is full of familiar faces along with some new faces while some perennial contenders are in danger of missing the party.

AXC

1. DAKOTA (11-1)
2. BUFFALO (10-2)
3. OAKLAND (10-2)
4. PITTSBURGH (9-3)

5. MILWAUKEE (9-3)
6. CINCINNATI (6-6)

7. KC (6-6)
8. VANCOUVER (6-6)
9. NEW ENGLAND (5-7)
10. MIAMI (5-7)
11. BIRMINGHAM (4-8)
12. DENVER (4-8)
13. NEW YORK (3-9)
14. CLEVELAND (3-9)

With the 4 divisions seemingly decided and Milwaukee while still alive for the division seems destined to be the #5 seed, we have 9 teams seperated by 3 games all vying for 1 playoff spot. While Birmingham, Denver, New York and Cleveland are still alive, it would take each of them winning out combined with the right teams losing to get the final Wildcard spot. In reality, 5 teams are seperated by just 1 game for that last spot.

Key Matchups week 13

Vancouver @ Oakland
Miami @ Buffalo
Pittsburgh @ New England
Cincinnati @ New York
Milwaukee @ Cleveland

NFC

1. MEMPHIS (9-3)
2. ARIZONA (9-3)
3. GREEN BAY (9-3)
4. BROOKLYN (6-6)

5. GEM CITY (9-3)
6. CAROLINA (8-4)

7. SEATTLE (8-4)
8. ATLANTA (7-5)
9. VEGAS (7-5)
10. PROVIDENCE (5-7)
11. PHILADELPHIA (5-7)
12. WASHINGTON (5-7)

The NXC is much more interesting and competitive where it pertains to each divisional race. The north has Green Bay tied with Gem City at 9-3. With Green Bay having a 5-1 division record and having split the season series with Gem City, this division race will come down to week 16 where tiebreakers may decide which team wins the division and which team becomes a Wildcard. The West and South division leaders each hold a 1 game lead over the team in second while in the East division, all 4 teams are seperated by just 1 game. The bottom line is that the NXC Conference will be a dogfight the last 4 weeks of the season.

Week 15

With one week remaining in the regular season, there isnt that much drama as mostly teams are battling for seeding. Some individuals are within range of some personal milestones.

AXC

1. DAKOTA (14-1)
It's pretty simple, win week 16 against the 1-14 Bull Sharks and they clinch the top seed. QB Randall Cunningham needs 101 yards and 1 TD to surpass 6000 yards passing and 60 TDs for the season.

2. OAKLAND (13-2)
Oakland needs to win and have Dakota lose to land the top seed based on Oakland's win over Dakota in the regular season. RB Albert Brooks needs 6 yards to surpass 1000 yards rushing for the season.

3. BUFFALO (11-3-1)
A win or lose by Pittsburgh secures the #3 seed for Buffalo which can finish no worse then the #4 seed. RB Jack Miller and RB Bert Reynolds need 32 and 77 yards respectively to each reach 1000 yards rushing. WR/RB Perry Thacker need 126 yards rushing to reach 6000 for his career. He would become the 4th alltime to teach that milestone.

4 PITTSBURGH (11-4)
They need to win and have Buffalo lose in order to move up to the #3 seed and are locked in no lower then the #4 seed. WR Peter Glenn needs 61 yards to reach 1000 yards receiving for the season.

5. MILWAUKEE (11-4)
They are locked in at the #5 seed. WR Orlando Dietrich needs 58 yards to reach 1000 yards receiving for the season.

6. KANSAS CITY (8-7)
KC needs to beat Oakland and they are in. If they lose it opens up the door for several teams to sneak in. CB Bruce Marrs needs 7 tackles to reach 100 for the season.

STILL ALIVE
CINCINNATI (7-7-1)
If Cincy beats Cleveland and KC loses to Oakland they will win the #6 seed.

VANCOUVE (7-8)
They need to beat Brooklyn and have both KC and Cincy lose to have a chance.

MIAMI (7-8)

They need to beat New England and have both KC and Cincy lose to have a chance.

NXC

1. MEMPHIS (12-3)
With a win over Carolina in week 16, they clinch the top seed based on there win over Green Bay during the regular season. RB Elvin Herrera needs 91 yards to reach 1000 yards rushing for the season. WR Richard Gray needs 38 yards to reach 1000 yards receiving for the season.

2. GREEN BAY (12-3)
They need to win over Arizona and have Memphis lose to Carolina to grab the top seed. QB Matthew Peasley needs 366 yards to reach 30,000 yards passing for his career. He would become only the 2nd quarterback in XFL history to reach that milestone behind QB Randall Cunningham

3. ARIZONA (10-5)
Arizona is locked in at the #3 seed based on there win over Brooklyn in the regular season. RB Steve Williams ad WR Fred Phan need 104 and 149 yards respectively to reach 1000 yards receiving for the season.

4. BROOKLYN (9-6)
They are locked in at the #4 seed. QB Michael Reed needs 380 yards passing to reach 4000 yards for the season.

5. GEM CITY (11-4)
With a win over Piitsburh, they clinch the #5 seed. RB Edward Papa needs 129 yards to reach 1000 rushing for the season.

6. ATLANTA (10-5)
If Atlanta beats Philly and Gem City loses to Pittsburgh, they grab the #5 seed dropping Gem City to the #6 seed. WR Richard Johnson needs 8 catches to reach 300 for his career.

Other notables:

WR James Rayner (NYE) needs 47 yards receiving to reach 7000 yards receiving for his career. He would become only the 2nd player in XFL history to reach that milestone behind WR Bert Reynolds BUF.

WR Chester Nesbitt (BIR) only needs 19 yards to reach 5000 yards receiving for his career.

WR Dennis Ramm (CAR) needs 3 TD receptions to reach 50 for his career. He would become just the 3rd player to reach that plateau.

RB Joe Lukasik (TB) needs 270 all purpose yards to reach 12,000 for his career. He would become just the 3rd player to reach that milestone in XFL history.

RB Steve Williams needs just 1 touchdown to reach 50 total TDs for his career. He would become just the 4th player to reach that milestone in XFL history.

WR Jack Miller (BUF) WR Dennis Ramm (CAR) and WR Terry Everett (VBA) all need 3 TDs to reach 50 total touchdowns for their career.
