Week 2

Welcome everyone to the 8th season of the XFL League. I have completed revamped and updated the XFL Statistics thread for a wide range of statistical achievements. From Single game, season, alltime and playoff leaders in stats from passing to kicking to defense. Go check it out and see if one of your players leads in some category. This thread is the forefront for my plans to create a XFL Hall Of Fame when we reach season 10. Owners can nominate players and I will be creating a poll for each nominee. A player will need 75% of the vote to be inducted into the Hall Of Fame. Only retired players will be eligible so I ask each owner to start thinking about possible nominees.

Good luck to everyone and have fun

WEEK 5

We are 5 games into season 8 of the XFL and we have some perennial contenders atop some divisions with some new teams vying for division titles and playoff berths.

AXC

Oakland (4-1), Buffalo (5-0), Dakota (5-0) and Milwaukee (4-1) all playoff teams last season are off to fast starts and looking to return.

Vancouver (4-1), Miami (3-2) and New England (3-2) all have winning records and after missing the playoffs last season are poised to make a run this season.

The most interesting and in some respects disappointing division is the AXC North with none of the four teams over .500 after 5 games. Pittsburgh (2-3) and Cincinnati (2-3) were both playoff teams last season and unless things change, only the division winner will make the playoffs. Cleveland (2-3) and Birmingham (1-4) have a chance to win that division with a strong showing in the 11 remaining games.

NXC

Arizona (4-1), Memphis (4-1) and Gem City (5-0) are all playoff teams from last season that have gotten off to a fast start.

Providence (4-1) and Vegas (4-1) have both gotten off to a great start after missing the playoffs last season.

Brooklyn (2-3) is a playoff team from last season that has struggled some out of the gate and need to have a strong remaining 11 games if they hope to return.

Atlanta (3-2), Philadelphia (3-2) and St Paul (3-2) have a winning record after 5 games and positioned themselves to make a run at either a division title or Wildcard berth.

Seattle (2-3), Carolina (2-3) and Montana (2-3) are three teams that finished right at or near .500 last season but missed the playoffs. They need to finish strong this season to avoid a similar fate as last season.

There are 14 teams in the AXC and 16 teams in the NXC within 3 games of a playoff spot.

There are 12 teams in the AXC and 15 teams in the NXC within 2 games of a playoff spot.

There are 11 teams in the AXC and 12 teams in the NXC within 1 game of a playoff spot.

WEEK 14

Talk about the "haves and the have nots". Two weeks left in the season and all 12 playoff teams have been decided. I did some research and cant find an NFL season where all 12 playoff teams were decided this early.

I believe we made history for the most boring playoff race in history but the final two weeks will decide several things.

Dakota (14-0) needs one win vs either Oakland (11-2-1) or Birmingham (1-13) to clinch the #1 seed.

Buffalo (13-1) needs to win out and have Dakota lose out to grab the #1 seed but one win vs Pittsburgh (9-5) or Miami (5-9) clinches the #2 seed.

Oakland (11-2-1) needs to win out and have Buffalo lose out to win the division and clinch the #2 seed. Winning out clinches the division over Vancouver (11-3) or any combination of wins + Vancouver loses that equals two. Oakland plays Dakota (14-0) and Denver (4-10) while Vancouver plays Tampa Bay (4-10) and New York (6-8)

Vancouver needs to win out and have Oakland lose a game to clinch the division and the #3 seed or win a game while Oakland loses out.

Gem City (10-4) needs to win out vs St. Paul (6-7-1) and Atlanta (10-4) to clinch the #2 seed.

Atlanta (10-4) needs to win out vs
Chicago (5-9) and Gem City (10-4) to win the division and clinch the #2 seed or any combination of wins + Memphis loses which equal two to clinch the division.

Brooklyn needs to win out vs
New England (8-6) and Memphis (9-4-1) and have Gem city and Atlanta each lose a game to have any chance at the #2 seed where it will go into tiebreakers.

Memphis (9-4-1) needs to win out vs Carolina (5-8-1) and Brooklyn (9-5) and have Atlanta and Gem City lose to clinch the division and the #2 seed. They need to win out and have Atlanta lose a game to clinch the division or win one game and have Atlanta lose out to win the division.

I'm sure I missed a few different scenarios but there are a few teams playing for byes and home playoff games in the final two weeks. We also cant ignore both Kansas City (1-13) and Birmingham (1-13) who are fighting for that #1 overall pick with Cleveland (2-14) lurking in the weeds with a week 15 matchup vs Birmingham which could complicate the picture.

15 teams are guaranteed a losing record with 4 more teams on the verge of joining them and another could finish 8-8. That means only 12 teams could finish with a winning record which comprises the 12 playoff teams. It will interesting to see next season who out of the have nots this season will make strides and challenge this years 12 playoff teams.

Despite this seasons competitive imbalance, it is important to note that both Vancouver and Vegas are two teams that made the playoffs this season after missing them the previous season.

That means Oakland should be playing on Wildcard Weekend because of this embarrassing tie with Memphis (AI).

It's not that embarrassing, greyghost just recently left the team and he left them in great shape. It usually takes the A.I. a full offseason to ruin a team.

Ghost put together a great roster

QB 89 (99 INT 100 Pass accuracy)
RB 84 (90 Speed)
WR 95,93,74 (92,86,81 speed)
FB 73
TE 77,73
OLINE 81,81,81,74,80
PUNTER 93
KICKER 92
DLINE 76,79,75,86
LB 80,79,74
CB 88,87,69
SS 83
FS 78

But I get it.....it hurts

I'll dig in and look into it now. On the surface you depicted how eventually any/all exposed players (starter, high snap count) will attain an injury or injuries.

...and then you see 18 and 19 total injuries for a player. Maybe AI mushed them through or a hands off GM so now you're edging to even closer to everyone will miss games/get injured.

Probably the majority are AI/hands off but not always. Here is a screenshot for my RB in USFL, Rudi Johnson. He is in his 7th season plus 17 playoff games.

Oh, believe me. I know. I recall that player, too.

It's a constant battle. I have players whom I continually tussle with them at a level of 70% ankle, per se. Over and over.

If I didn't joust with it and let it be the player would be DEAD.

Curtis Scott in our shared USFL. I came in and my man was dominating the league. Got knocked out with a major injury. I switched him to WR to try and to reinvigorate him but as I recall he was one of those get injured over and over players.

It worked a bit but he was Rudi-like.

1974. He was getting write-ups from Tribe about his domination, caught the serious injury and went to sh*t. Bookended, too, as I see. Serious injury into retirement.
