Wildcard roundI have to admit, the Wildcard round snuck upon me before I had a chance to do a breakdown. In my defense, I was sidetracked by an owner that became completely unhinged. He went on a wild tirade I'm the forums cussing owners, their mothers and their kids out.
He then sent me an ultimatum via PM where I had to do as he said or he was quitting my league. When I responded, I dont like react kindly to ultimatums, he responded that he kills anyone that crosses him.
I PMed JDB with the link to the thread where he broke several dozen rules of conduct plus asked him to read my PMs from him. It gets better, something very similar happened in the USFL league with admin Tribewriter. I messaged him with all the details.
The good news is that individual is no longer in any of my leagues and the ball is in JDB court whether he remains in the MFN.
Now to the Wildcard games!
Cincinnati 16 @ Buffalo 25
Buffalo started fast and took a 22-7 lead into halftime and held off a comeback by 2 time XFL Champion QB Mervin Couture in the 4th quarter to win by 9.
Milwaukee 20 @ Pittsburgh 3
Milwaukee's defense shut down Pittsburgh offense allowing only 173 total yards of offense and a late fieldgoal to win convincingly on the road
Atlanta 12 @ Arizona 21
Arizona went up 14-3 in the 1st quarter and Atlantas offense could never get on track settling for 2 1st half fieldgoals between a key interception. Arizona's touchdown in the 3rd quarter put the game out of reach as Atlanta scored a touchdown in the 4th quarter but was too little too late.
Gem City 10 @ Brooklyn 16
Injuries limited Gem City's offense as neither team did much on offense. Brooklyn led 13-3 thanks to a missed by Gem City. The score tightened at 13-10 in the 3rd quarter but the final points of the game was a fieldgoal by Brooklyn with 1:11 left in the 3rd quarter. Gem City's Marcus Steven's threw interceptions on his teams final 2 posessions of the game to seal the victory for Brooklyn.
This guaranteed that the NXC will have a new team win the conference with the loses to Atlanta and Gem City.
In contrast, 3 of the 4 remaining teams in the AXC have won the conference with only Milwaukee being the lone possible new team to do so.
