Re: Punt Block Controversy

I am not understanding why it's OK for other people to do this to me, but it's not OK for me to do the same thing. Now I am finding out from my unwilling teacher that he had learned by being on the short end of the stick, just like I was.

I'm doing lots of things that are more sneaky and ruthless than this is. If punt blocks are wrong, what about everything else? My perception of a "garbage cop-out" is, "anything that makes you lose."

Unless I'm missing some "big exploit" this is just a matter of using speed to beat a bad blocker to block a punt.....ahhhhhh that's football right?

Now if your telling me my 100 rated ST blocker cant block someone with 90 speed regardless of other ratings then the game is broken....if not it's no different from using a 95 speed WR as a RB

Then the game is broken. That 100-rated ST blocker will succeed *sometimes,* but not *every time.* IRL you would never rush a punt with DB's, because the punting team could simply fake the punt and run for easy yards. However, there are no fake punts in MFN, so bombs away.

Likewise, those WR "runners" should be coughing up lots of fumbles, but they don't. That's another way that the game is broken.

You said you tried it in the Champions league game we played....I punted 4 times and you never got close.....why?

Because I don't have the DB's to do it well. One reason punt blocking is not an easy gimmick is, it still takes good players to pull it off. In addition, one of those punts was backed way up, in which case the rush doesn't work the same way. Another thing, it's not as if you ****. Your players are quite a bit better than mine.

Well that's quite a bit different then an unstoppable exploit everyone keeps telling me it is.

Like I said, it's a personel mismatch.

I've watched a dozen punt blocks and everytime I can explain why it happened.....bad punter or bad blocker.

Punt blocks are not unstoppable, but they can be effective if they are done well. In addition, they are flashy and they can force opponents to make sacrifices in other areas in order to stop the punt blocks. I think the reason many unscrupulous players trash-talk in the forums after they pull one off is, so that the strategy can be more effective.

In NFFL in 2003, you did this to me in the pre-season:

https://national-fictional-football-league.myfootballnow.com/watch/1012#178280

And then again in the regular season:

https://national-fictional-football-league.myfootballnow.com/watch/1087#192112

Eventually I got the message that anything goes. You must have a lot of victims if you forget them.

You know what? I remember those! It was shortly after I had it done to me & I was trying to figure out exactly what was causing it.

I'm sorry that you were on the bad end of those. I DON'T use that set up to intentionally beat anyone. I still think it's a garbage cop-out. I don't direct that personally at you, slowtospeak.

For you, I was the source of this schism. For me, it was a completely different person. I coukd see where you would view me in the same light as I view the individual that introduced me to this exploit.

Cjfred, I'll get back with you on some of your questions tomorrow. It's late where I am.

I think we've checked it against the boards enough to discuss in that someone will have a shock collar approach to fully seeking it knowing the board will light up.

I've tried to make it something I weave into what I do but haven't produced much results. I can get to the non-punter placed at the punter position sporadically. Basically, if someone wants to be sh***y they can take a 96/96 speed DB with high strip ball or a 95/95 speed WR and maybe toss in high strength for him, place it into one of the two correct spots and just ARGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! CHARGE!!!!!!!!!!! All game long at your punter.

If you have an elite punter - I think you should be safe.

If you leave an opening with the punt timing, bottom line, you're screwed. lol

Received some much needed information regarding this exploit. I will be officially testing it in Beta this upcoming season. We are currently in the pre-season of a new code.
