GG CJ. Not quite sure how I escaped the frigid confines of Dakota with a win.

In the end...it is still a game where luck and chance always plays a factor....especially in the playoffs where you are facing the best remaining teams.

My team is aging and this may be my last run with this bunch as the level of competetion in this league continues to rise.

I see you are leaving after this season so good luck the rest of the way. Oakland has always been a top team in this league.

I was gonna leave. Then I noticed I wasn't letting this team play with their full available roster (guys not active in the depth chart). I'm gonna return for at least one more season. There are a couple other leagues that I won't be renewing after their seasons come to an end.

I feel like luck has more significance when competing teams and coaches are nearly equal in abilities.

And when I lose, it's because my opponent was better prepared than I was.

I agree with you about that, I was not trying to diminish it or take away from his win. If someone beats me they deserve the win....period.

Didn't read all the comments before that post, just saw some luck references. Didn't mean to be harsh about it. I'll be the first to whine when my RB with 90 avoid fumble coughs up three fumbles in a 3 point loss.

No it's fine.

We all try and put together the best roster and set up gameplans with rules to give ourself every possible advantage in a game but.....

Luck is a factor

From my understanding, every play is a series of dice rolls based on all the variables that factor into the equation.

Take your avoid fumble scenario. A 90 avoid fumble RB coughs it up 3 times in a game.....maybe he is tackled by a 90 force fumble MLB which creates an ???? 80% chance he fumbles....still good odds but the sim rolls over 80 all three times.....bad luck.

Dont get me wrong, I dont think I'm unbeatable or only having bad luck will cause me to lose. I beat Oakland/Crazyrazor by 3 in the regular season so going in I thought it was 50/50.

I split with Oakland during the regular season, but if I'm being honest, I should have lost the first one (a two-point win).

I blame my early exit on my roster, but that's a cop out. New England had a better gameplan.

I dont know the ratio but in my opinion this game is

35% roster management
55% gameplanning/rules
10% luck

I give gameplanning/rules the biggest percentage because I've seen great gameplans beat superior rosters too many times.
