QBs are about to follow the RB route, unless you're a true standout you won't get paid.
It feels like it is flowing that same trend. RBs used to land monster deals until the money out paced the performance. Now you cycle in new RBs at every chance, they hardly get drafted in rd1 and they are unlikely to resign with the team that drafted them.
I look at Kyler Murray as being a prime example, but also the over valuing of older QBs - M Ryan, R Wilson, M Stafford. There will always be above the fray types that warrant the money, but I think the bar is raising for that carrot.
I anticipate more Lamar Jackson types coming up, but doing 4 or 5 years before teams contemplate deeply on getting real competition for the position. Gone will be the days of a backup who is best wearing a headset.
