I prefer it on TV as well, used to have Bengals season tickets but gave them up. A 1:00 game means I had to leave work early Saturday night, get maybe 4 hours sleep, then drive down early to park and eat. If I waited until closer to game time, you get stuck in bumper to bumper traffic on the highway.
I pretty much always stayed until the end and our end zone seats were by the river, meaning we were at "the back" of the stadium, so by the time we got to my car, the highway was already packed. It normally takes 50-60 minutes to get from Dayton to Cincinnati but getting home from the game often took close to 90-120 minutes.
So I finally get home around 6ish, just in time for the second half of the late games. That's just the commute, I haven't even mentioned drunken idiot fans, overpriced parking/concessions, etc.
I much prefer working my normal shift until 4 am, then getting about 4 hours sleep and watch Red Zone Channel all day.
