That team was unique. I shouldn't have had that @ 50. I kept the rest the same.

I'm OCD so I usually have everything pinpointed accurately. I must have just decided to have him entirely for kickoffs and kept that 50 from when I first had him.

I lost the game because it was jacked with Infinity pedigree, playing like him and not like AI.

Thanks for the advice. I did need to clean that up because the non-attempts were bad.

This is the game I noticed the feildgoal thing in D&D playoffs. I won 17-16 on a last minute fieldgoal and you passed up on 5 FG attempts...3 under 50 yards and 2 chipshots.

I have refused to get cute with 4th downs ever since my XFL playoff debacle two seasons ago. Lost 6-0 to the Roughnecks because I had a rule to always go for it on 4th down in opponent territory. Had I not had that rule I would have probably won 12-6. So now, I kick the field goal every time (no matter the kicker) unless I'm down big in the second half.

When I confined my Kicking Attack at the conception of the league any daylight from 100 meant = near automatic miss on FGs. 85 or lower.

I've noticed FGs are honing in much more toward the middle of the Goal Posts now. I -believe- JDB heard the criticism somewhere awhile back.

Make a mental note after your FG kicker misses to see if the QB revs up immediately with zings on your defense.

Thru 8 weeks in the XFL this season.....the combined success rate for every Kicker is:

84.4% (421/499)

That includes 50+ yards...the success rate for 50+ yards combined for every Kicker is:

66.9% (77/115)

So if you remove anything 50 or over....the combined success rate for every Kicker in the league is:

89.6% (344/384)

The numbers tell the story....it's even better for under 40 yards.....over 90%

That's now. I recall perfectly now. Right when JDB introduced v4.6 and for a time period thereafter he played a game of making poor kicker and QB draft classes; especially in dispersal drafts.

In an attempt to parity the game amongst GMs as we figured out the code - the kickers started missing horrifically. There were definitely a confluence of events propping up defense, funneling the games to all be close.

He course corrected the kicking. I vividly remember kicks going askew from everything, every distance...

even extra points now that I think about it.

I look at the statistics and let them tell the story.

2040 (8 games)

84.4% success rate for all kickers combined for every fieldgoal attempt.

2038 (1st season of 4.6)

84.8% success rate for all kickers combined for every fieldgoal attempt.

882 for 1040

2035 (version 4.5)

82.7% success rate for all kickers combined for every fieldgoal attempt

908 for 1097

It's something I have to deal with at work all the time....it's hard to analyze data when using small sample sizes and you can lose the truth following short-term trends or especially outliers.

The only real change in kicking has come when he put a cap on distance from 66-68 yards and made 60 the most possible about 4 years ago.
