They work. I'll see an aggressive elite type like GDB be like bah, who cares about avoid fumble and get nailed. Leaving daylight will give you Ls.

(in the name of getting speed speed speed in the lineup) *

The 100/100 fumbles come from a nerf or the engine sees too much of a certain run in a small game window period of time or you have a long, sustained drive with a million plays - engine working you hard but says nah no TD for you and has you fumble deep in the opponent's territory.

Perfect play call to play call....collision on a blitz - BAM......loose ball.

Typically, the 100/100 will win you games and keep you on the right side of the dice rolls.

Thanks for the response. Both happened against zone defense of all things. Both were preceded by holding penalties so I’m wondering if that has anything to do with it.

I should say it didn’t cost me the game but did cost me two drives inside opponent territory.

The point is probability!

A 2% chance to fumble doesn't mean never.

Every single play is a series of random dice rolls so you can ha e the advantage by roster and play call but a bad roll can negate that.

Luck is the factor nobody wants to accept but it plays a part in games.

A 100 avoid fumble player will fumble less then a 50 avoid player over his career but when the 100 avoid fumble player fumbles in a game...it feels like BS.

Also remember, the defensive player causing the strip ball may be rated high, fatigue and injury can negatively effect avoid fumble....there are more then 1 variable for it all.

It's like saying how can my 100 pass accuracy QB throw an incompletion or my 100 kick accuracy Kicker miss a 40 yard feildgoal. The 100 rating is just 1 variable in a bigger formula to create outcomes based on random number generation.

Hope that helps

I want to say I read that there's some physics equation involved in fumbles. I feel like I see fumbles mostly from DBs getting a full head of steam while my RB is starting to break downhill

Definitely helps! Thanks for the write up. Basically I just wanted to know if it was something on my end, a code fluke, or random chance.

That makes sense. I haven’t watched the game yet but I’ll keep a lookout for that when I do.

Nobody has access to the code so it depends on what you believe JDB coded all by himself in his spare time.

It's highly unlikely he created an A.I. for a free to play football sim that will make predetermined results based on how its feeling.

It's fairly unlikely, he development a super sophicated code which factors in hundreds of ratings at once for each play consisting of hundreds of dice rolls per play.

It's most likely based on how speed is over-powered in the game that each play has 11 dice rolls based on a few attributes for each player.

From what I've seen and how I edit my custom ratings....I believe the last choice where each position only really uses a few key attributes with speed a common variable for all.

I'm not claiming I'm right...I'm staying what I believe....it's simple code and it doesn't care what the results are...it just spits out whatever random thing happens.

And of course....there is the inherent problem of random number generation by computers......even the best RNG isn't truly random....it uses complex mathematical formulas to create the illusion of random selection but it's not really random.

This can create several problems which lead to strange results

.

It actually makes sense when you put it that way. Reminds me of iTunes or Spotify randomization. Not random at all really.

Negative play familiarity. I -believe- in the Da Balla game in MFN-23 as the game went on I started to fumble and get penalized.
