Is it fair that I write a 122 defense rule and it won't let me do it? I wrote my d rules here for 3 hours and either it glitched or jdb coded it to not allow my basic new rules. I don't even know or interact with you before all this energy. You come off as jdb's best friend or brother. Why all the defensive energy? You are the only one defending hard at every turn.

You said it yourself. Working on the run v. zone defense in mfn-1. The ai logic matches more blitzes v. 113 running thanks to what I have done in mfn-2 and 7. It near automatically matches the 113 sweep with a blitz.

The problem, Smirt, is that you believe everything is "get Smirt".

The main issue of Zone vs run is simply that the default get to Zone then react to run leaves LBs way out of position to stop the run effectively, irrespective of who the owner is. Apparently that shouldn't get addressed.

Long passing is also being worked on - is that an attempt to nerf your defensive scheme?
Another problem being, he has ample reason to believe that. I'm not his fan club by any stretch, and the only reason I ever even get close to him is when MFN is screwing with him, but it's obvious that he's seeing things that nobody else is. He's being singled out for punishment. If MFN can do him like *that,* then no one else should care.

What a load of tosh.

Do you think the game was intended to be played the way Smirt does? I've said he's excellent at finding and maximising exploits - it's testament to his knowledge and ability that others try to copy and fail, due to not knowing the rationale at times. That's incredibly useful to JDB - highlighting things needing fixing to make the sim better all round.

Since you believe he's being singled out for "punishment", maybe every change should be reverted, sod improving things. Bring back the punt block exploit. Bring back that FB run.

Or maybe bring back actual football talent to actual football players in future draft classes???

Currently there was an update pushed to double the size of drafts classes in MFN1 to address the lack of talent/lack of depth in drafts. There is not a timetable of when that would be pushed to other leagues though but it is being addressed.

I imagine JDB wants to see how this next draft class looks/thoughts from owners and to make sure it doesn’t wreck the servers before pushing it to all leagues

That's not true and you know it, because you're not a silly goose. My point is, that Smirt works really hard and he's really good, but he gets rewarded with a vendetta. If this is what we get, there's no wonder that no one else tries.
JSYK Smirt did not invent the punt block exploit. He did respond, however, by refusing to punt until it got fixed. Just like he will start keeping his draft picks again if the draft gets fixed.

I know how to draft. :) I drafted once in recent years. Picked up Syracuse in NCAA - drafted 7 rounds and made it to the Conference Finals level with a weak team that needed the picks to be utilized.

The game is played to be won, not to be a purist about how it is intended to be played. Smirt does what it takes within the four walls of the game (not football purism) to win. There's nothing wrong with that, and going after Smirt doesn't help address problems within the game.

Is it realistic to put have lots of listed CBs/WRs at non-CB/WR positions and trade picks 1-4 every year? No, but this isn't real life (and also that's far from everything that makes Smirt's approach to the game unique because his gameplanning is almost impossible to get a read on). There are tweaks JDB is working on and you have to respect him for that but ultimately at the end of the day, no matter what is done, people will find whatever else works within the game mechanics and take advantage of that piece of the game to play it to the best of their ability.

Also these exploits are open to everyone (or any exploits that will be available in the future state of the game), they're not mythical or restricted to a few owners. If everyone is able to do it then everyone can do it, and we're still on a level playing field.

People are offended that Smirt plays this like a video game. Well, it *is* a video game. If you want realism, strap on the pads. Can we wish this were more like the game we all love, but can't play because of our physical reality? Well, sure we can, but we shouldn't be offended at someone who plays better than we do.
